Heavy metal-and-glass lens (first impression when received).
Pictures are unedited and mostly wide open. You can see bokeh of the lens, which is excellent. All pictures are unedited, only resized and sharpened a bit for web. Contrast at wider apertures is quite poor, but you can easily correct in post processing. Sharpness increaces with stopping down, but i can not judge enough from 4MP EOS 1D camera. Spot on focussing is uneasy for unskilled shooter. Reason for selling was just manual focussing. I have had wanted lens in this focal lenght for sport and action shooting. I have Canon 80-200/2.8L and i am happy with it, it gets much more use.
